Hiatus

I am working like a beast on a huge monster of a post. The kind of thing I call a "fat boy". I write those occasionally, and in between times I post quickie, easy items. Such has been the pattern on this blog almost since the beginning.

So, expect silence for the next few days, since I want to do my damnedest and give this project every drop of energy I can spare to it.

Don't let anybody fool you. Writing, if you are the least bit serious about it, is HARD WORK.

This is very true. The language posts I wrote on the Spearhead took a solid week of dedicated energy. I had to drown out the distractions of the barracks with music, but I couldn't allow the music to be too distracting (settled into Braid's soundtrack, which features Jami Sieber among others).

I am still not entirely finished writing what I intended to write, either. They were cut into pieces because I was writing for different audiences and with a page limit in mind.

Anyway, thanks for the comments on my posts and good luck with yours.

@J.Durden:

Thanks for dropping by. I enjoyed reading your "language ideology" posts at the Spearhead because you are attacking the issues in a way that is rather similar to my own.

(My gig is, undermining feminist terminology, and attacking what I call "feminist subjectivity" - which basically means the quaint idea most feminists have, that only THEY get to say what feminism is!)

I shall look forward to reading your further contributions at Spearhead.
